What to do when your strength fails

For those of you who don't already know, my sister was recently diagnosed with breast cancer at 34 years old.

In the last few months, I've felt more emotions than a 12-year-old girl at her first prom ...

If I'm being honest, there's been days where running a business or strength training were the last things on my mind

There were moments that the enemy made me feel powerless

I felt broken, weak, and out of control ...

Until I remembered God's promise in 1 Corinthians 12:9-11 which says,

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong. (ESV)

"When I am weak, I am strong"

Weakness isn't defeating when we know the source of true strength

In fact, weakness becomes our strength because it shows us who has been supporting us all along

This doesn't mean that our suffering should be brushed under a rug there are 100% times to worn and weep- read Ecclesiastes or Lamentations if you don't believe me ;)

But, what it does mean is: our pain is never wasted

Because we know that God is doing this FOR us, not TO us- for our good and His glory

So, if like me, you're in the midst of a valley right now- I have hope for you!

God has a purpose for your pain. You’re not going through this alone, and God wants you to know that He is with you!

Here are 3 simple things I've been doing to remind me of this truth:

1. Read Truth Daily (just do it!)

Don't know where to start?

Try reading a Psalm & Proverb 1x a day

2. Pray More

Set aside a few quiet moments to be still with the Holy Spirit and let Him speak Personally, I set a timer for 10 minutes and don’t stop until that goes off- this soothes my left brain and keeps me focused.

3. Worship Intentionally

Be picky with your inputs.

Choose music/podcasts/social media that emphasizes God's promises and truth

All the love,
