Is Beauty Bad?

We all want to be beautiful, don't we?

I've personally never met someone whose goal was to be ugly, have you?

I spent years living life strung along from compliment to compliment searching for new ways to become beautiful ...
I tried diets, masks, cleanses, and make-up to make me "feel" more beautiful, but nothing seemed to quite fill the void I had created
On my low days, I still struggle with this ... do you?

But, I've found out something incredible about beauty, and even deeper confidence
Do you want to know what that is?

Before I share, I have to let you in on a little secret ...
Beauty isn't BAD!

In fact, the Bible is filled with women who are described as "easy on the eyes!" or in Biblical terms, "fair to look upon"
Unfortunately, in our search for acceptance, we can take a blessing from God and make it a burden.

A burden that rules our emotions, time, and energy.

While trying to become more beautiful, we can actually become discontent, unhappy, and frustrated!

But, let me remind you of something, friend.

You are a New Creation, a Daughter of the King, His Beloved, a Chosen Priesthood, a Beautiful Masterpiece made in the image of God, and NOTHING can take that away from you.

If faith isn't a part of your life, then your beauty comes from your acts of kindness, generosity, and love!
Maybe you're thinking, but Laura, is it wrong to want to be more beautiful?

I don't believe so!

Beauty is a blessing!
Desiring a blessing from God is like desiring to be married, have kids, or graduate college.
Once achieved, these blessings become a part of our lives for a season.

Let beauty be your asset, not your addiction.

Embrace the reality that beauty is fading.

Pursue the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit that's of great worth in God’s sight.
Will you do me a favor?
